President of Kurdistan Region Massoud Barzani sends a message to Kurdish Parliamentarians, government officials and political party delegates.
“The enemies of Kurdistan have attempted in all ways to undermine the struggle and sacrifices of our people; such attempts include numerous acts of terrorism, the Anfal campaign and chemical bombardments but with the grace of God and the steadfastness of our people we managed to triumph over such attacks and shielded ourselves against the hostility of enemies that ultimately left them disappointed and abandoned.
Today, our people is the closest of any time in triumph and have already made great gains, but however unfortunately we see the emergence of other despicable ways to stand against the people of Kurdistan, like calls for a civil war; to divide the province into two. This is not freedom of expression, but all these attempts are a betrayal of the people, the country and the implementation of policies and agendas pursued by the enemies of Kurdistan.
We cannot accept any form survival of these atrocities and that this sensitive issue carries a dangerous threat to our national security and it has concerns for Kurdistan, putting all the gains we have obtained with our blood and tears under threat.
Parliament of Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Regional Government, I ask that you carry out their duties in this regard and implement actions necessary against this dangerous hazard and that the current legal and formal way to limit the dissemination of these opinions that target the nation's unity, stability and calling into civil internal and re-administration’s policy of war.
I call on all political parties in the region, to make every effort in order to reduce the appearance of these voices and attitudes, and I ask the masses of Kurdistan, again for the people of this kind that continue to deploy aggressive thoughts and calling for civil war and strife and unite all our efforts in order to protection of Kurdistan and the unity of our people.”
