Masrour Barzani receives UK Prime Minister's Special Envoy and military advisors

The Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region and Head of Security Council (KRSC) Masrour Barzani, received the special envoy to the UK Prime Minister, General Thomas Anthony Beckett accompanied by his delegation which included a number of military advisers.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the deputy British Consul General in Erbil,  John Michael , both sides discussed the latest political developments and security situation in Iraq and Kurdistan, and emphasised the need for the Peshmerga forces to be better equipped with the required weapons to confront and eliminate the Islamic State terrorists.

They exchanged views on how to provide more coordination in dealing with terrorists because ISIS does not only pose a threat to the region, but it poses a threat to the world at large. The meeting ended with Gen. Pickett expressing the support of his government to the Kurdistan Region; namely that Britain as a nation will continue to Help Peshmerga forces in the war against ISIS.
