Statement by Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc on the 23 June Parliament meeting

First: Today’s meeting was not subject to the rules of procedure of Parliament according to Article 54 section 1.4 as imposed by the Parliament Presidency. A summary of the previous meeting should have been announced and names of attendees and absentees excused and unexcused then followed by the display of work agenda. The Parliament’s Presidency showed negligence toward what is required of their role.

Second: What we regret is that the Speaker of Parliament did not even have a neutral side, couldn’t deal with the magnitude and importance of Parliament and he became under the influence of the planned political conflicts in Parliament.

Third: What happened today is the beginning of the collapse of the political consensus that was formed on its basis of the government and Parliament. The responsibility for what happened rests with who was behind the reason for creating this atmosphere.

Fourth: And announce to everyone that this subject needs to consensus and agreement was the only way to deal with such a sensitive subject is the national consensus away from a party bidding.

Fifth: We appreciate the role of all parties’ supporting the national consensus although they did not attend the session.

Sixth: And from here, to reassure the people of Kurdistan and the masses of the Kurdistan Democratic Party without a national consensus nobody can reach a decision on such a sensitive topic.
