President Barzani receives US Ambassador to Iraq

President Massoud Barzani received Stuart Jones, US Ambassador to Iraq and his accompanying delegation for talks on the security situation and Peshmerga forces.

During the meeting, which was attended by US Consul General to Kurdistan, Joeseph Pennington, the two sides discussed the latest military developments, and the Peshmerga victories against the terrorist organisation Islamic State. The two sides pointed to the defeat of ISIS in Syria and the collapse of the morale of terrorists.

The two sides also exchanged views on plans to liberate the city of Mosul, relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and Anbar refugee situations.

The US ambassador stressed his country's continued support for the Peshmerga forces, emphasising the bilateral relations between the two sides and development of these relations.
