President Barzani receives Qatari Foreign Minister

President Massoud Barzani received the Qatari Foreign Minister, Dr Khalid Al-Attiyah, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the Al-Attiyah forwarded extended greetings from the Emir of Qatar to President Barzani, praising the developments of the Kurdish region. Al-Attiyah praised the courage and the bravery of Peshmerga forces, along with the role of President Barzani in his role against the war on terror. He also thanked the people of Kurdistan for accepting a large number of displaced people, whilst at war with terrorism, and at the same time as being at war – noting that Kurdistan has become a safe haven for the displaced people, which derive from various nationalities, religious backgrounds, and sects.

In contrast, President Barzani welcomed the guest delegation and spoke on the displaced people, stressing that Kurdistan is considered to help the displaced and has the duty to provide humanitarian needs, to improve the lives of the displaced; also adding that many arrive across the border having already been groomed by terrorists.
