Masrour Barzani emphasises bilateral relations with the Sudan

The Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region and Head of Security Council (KRSC) Masrour Barzani received the Consul General of Sudan to Kurdistan, Awad Yassin.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, particularly the situation of refugees and displaced persons and relations between the two sides.

The Sudanese Consul stressed, "the need to develop relations between the two sides," adding that "his country will consider the Kurdistan Region as an important factor for the stability of the region.”

Mr Yassin praised the role of security forces in the Kurdistan Region with high honour, that the government is protecting the peoples security and stability of the territory in this troubled region.
