Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani has said that his administration is seeking reconciliation with the federal government in Iraq in order to restore clarity and develop the best possible relations amidst prolonged heated disputes and disagreements over oil and gas and civil servant salaries.
Mr Barzani made the remarks during a meeting in Iranian capital Tehran with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
He also added that the Kurdish people “will never forget” the generous services and support from their ‘Iranian brothers” during their toughest times, highlighting that the current security situation in the region is stable.
Despite the falling prices of oil, Mr Barzani said frenetic conditions brought on by the already high and rising number of refugees in Iraqi Kurdistan, the region is making good economic and social progress.
