President Barzani Visits the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs

As part of his visit to France, on the evening of Friday, September 5, 2025, President Masoud Barzani visited the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris, where he was received by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.

During the meeting, while emphasizing the historical ties of friendship between the people of Kurdistan and France, both sides underlined the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations. They also discussed the upcoming visit of President Macron to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, which is scheduled to take place this year.

The talks also covered relations between Erbil and Baghdad, stressing the need for adherence to the constitution and the resolution of outstanding issues.

Another part of the meeting focused on the threats of terrorism and the necessity of coordination between all sides to confront it. The French Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country’s continued support for the Kurdistan Region.
