Masrour Barzani meets British Ambassador to Iraq to discuss regional security situation

 

The Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region and Head of Security Council (KRSC) Masrour Barzani received British Ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

Ambassador Baker praised the Kurdistan Region for showing courage in the fight against terrorism. Mr Barzani stressed the importance of further aid to the Peshmerga as they are the only effective force against terrorism.

The political situation and tensions between Erbil and Baghdad were another aspect of the meeting where Mr Barzani said it is difficult to deal with the Iraqi government as there is no trust among them and all attempts to resolve problems through dialogue have failed.

He added that it is better for the people of Iraq to recognize their fate as they are calls for dialogue, peace and understanding with the rest of the nation.
