The Consul General of Hungary visited the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Foreign Relations Office.

Hoshyar Siwaily, Head of the KDP Foreign Relations Office, welcomed Mr. Tivadar Takács, the newly appointed Consul General of Hungary in the Kurdistan Region, along with the Deputy Consul Ms. Dominika Kovács. He congratulated the new Consul General, wished him success, and reaffirmed the KDP’s readiness for cooperation and coordination during his mission in Kurdistan.

Mr. Siwaily provided a brief overview of the history of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Hungary, expressing gratitude to the Hungarian people, government, and representation for their support and assistance to the Kurdistan Region at different stages. During the meeting, the current situation in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider region was discussed with the visiting delegation. The Kurdistan Democratic Party’s perspectives on these issues were also shared.

The Head of the KDP Foreign Relations Office expressed his satisfaction with the level of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Hungary. He hoped that these ties would further expand in the fields of economy, trade, academia, and agriculture, stressing that the KDP is fully prepared to cooperate and support the deepening of relations across all sectors.

The Hungarian Consul General expressed his gratitude for the meeting, reaffirming that his country respects and values the progress of the Kurdistan Region and is keen to further enhance bilateral relations. He also highlighted Hungary’s diplomatic mission in the Kurdistan Region, particularly in the areas of higher education, capacity building, and trade exchange. He assured that efforts will continue, with confidence that in the near future greater advancements will be achieved.

In conclusion, both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and maintaining continuous relations to better serve common interests and strengthen cooperation in all fields.
