Hawrami: KDP is a party that adheres to democratic principles in harmony and unity

During a meeting with the Polish Consul General in Erbil Mr Bogoslaw Ochodek, Hemin Hawrami said that an impending presidential election in the Kurdistan Region emboldens the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s position on democracy and pledges assurances of democratic principles.

The Head of KDP’s Foreign Relations Office extended the appreciation to Poland’s government for their support in the region’s battle against terrorists. They discussed the triumphant victories achieved by Peshmerga forces on the frontlines and relations between Erbil and Baghdad on the outstanding tensions in addition to developments surrounding the Kurdistan region.

Mr Hawrami stressed that the KDP is determined to adhere to its policy not to accept any undemocratic methods and will always maintain their principle that the power is with the people of Kurdistan. He also said that the party stipulates harmony and unity.

For his part, Mr Ochodek, expressed praise for the Kurdish Pershmerga forces on their bravery and for their victories against the terrorist organization Islamic State. He said that his country will continue to pledge support for Kurdistan and highlighted the importance of bilateral relations between the two sides while exhibiting his delight at visiting the Foreign Relations Office.
