President Barzani Welcomes a UAE Government Delegation

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Salahaddin, President Masoud Barzani welcomed a UAE government delegation headed by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State and the UAE’s Special Envoy for Economic Affairs to the Kurdistan Region.

At the beginning of the meeting, the visiting delegation expressed their pleasure in visiting the Kurdistan Region and meeting with President Barzani. They emphasized the friendship and the leadership stance of the UAE in advancing relations with the Kurdistan Region and conveyed the greetings of the UAE’s leadership and rulers to President Barzani. They also expressed their appreciation for the meetings and gatherings held in the Region and for the opportunities provided to further develop economic relations and other fields both now and in the future.

For his part, President Barzani warmly welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his gratitude to the government, people, and leadership of the UAE for their continuous support and assistance to the Kurdistan Region through humanitarian organizations, especially during the time when hundreds of thousands of displaced persons sought refuge in the Kurdistan Region. President Barzani also welcomed the strengthening of friendship and bilateral relations between the two sides.

The overall situation in the region was another key topic of the meeting.
