President Barzani Welcomes a Delegation from the United Arab Emirates

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Salahaddin, President Masoud Barzani received a high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates, led by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Minister of State and UAE’s Special Envoy for Economic Affairs to the Kurdistan Region.

At the beginning of the meeting, the visiting delegation expressed their pleasure at visiting the Kurdistan Region and meeting with President Barzani. They emphasized the friendship and the leadership stance of the UAE in promoting relations with the Kurdistan Region, and conveyed the greetings of the UAE leadership and rulers to President Barzani. They also expressed gratitude and appreciation for the meetings and opportunities provided during their visit to strengthen economic cooperation and other areas of partnership, both at present and in the future.

For his part, President Barzani warmly welcomed the delegation and extended his gratitude to the government, people, and leadership of the UAE for their consistent support of the Kurdistan Region, particularly through humanitarian organizations during the arrival of hundreds of thousands of displaced persons to Kurdistan. President Barzani also welcomed further strengthening of the friendship and relations between both sides.

The general situation and developments in the region were also key points of discussion during the meeting.
