President Barzani Receives Italian Ambassador to Iraq

Permam, October 8, 2025 — President Masoud Barzani on Wednesday received Ambassador Nicolò Fontana, the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, and his accompanying delegation.

The discussion covered the peace process in Türkiye, recent developments in Syria, and the Iraqi parliamentary elections. Both sides expressed hope that the elections and their results would bring positive change, strengthen democratic principles, and genuinely reflect the will of the people.

They also reviewed the political process in the Kurdistan Region and the formation of the new Kurdistan Regional Government.
