Message of the Kurdistan Democratic Party

On the Occasion of the Elections for the Sixth Term of the Iraqi Council of Representatives

Dear friends and loyal supporters,

Devoted voters,

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) — the pioneer of national and democratic struggle in Kurdistan — since its founding by the Immortal Mala Mustafa Barzani, has been devoted to the cause of freedom, individual and collective rights, and the defense of national and patriotic principles.

Representing the people of Kurdistan, the KDP has always strived to build a responsible system of good governance, establish a well-functioning and democratic state, and serve as a model of justice and social responsibility. It has been consistently dedicated to defending the constitutional rights of all communities of Kurdistan and Iraq.

Today, more than ever, the Kurdistan Democratic Party reaffirms its commitment to the permanent Iraqi Constitution, emphasizing the struggle to protect the constitutional rights of all peoples and components of Kurdistan and Iraq. The KDP firmly believes that only through collective adherence to the Constitution can the unity of the land, sovereignty, and the legitimate aspirations of the Iraqi people be safeguarded. The root cause of Iraq’s current problems lies in the failure to uphold the Constitution.

The KDP strongly insists that the rightful financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region and the salaries of public employees must be provided, and that political manipulation of people’s livelihoods must end.

The Party continues to work for the implementation of Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution, based on the mechanisms already outlined in that Constitution.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party is also working tirelessly to advance economic development, diversify sources of income, and establish justice in governance throughout the Region — across all provinces, districts, towns, and villages of Kurdistan and Iraq.

Under the leadership of President Masoud Barzani, the KDP — as the foremost force of democracy in Kurdistan — once again firmly declares its commitment to democratic values, peaceful coexistence, and the defense of the rights of all communities. We reaffirm our belief that dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect for rights and freedoms are the best and most effective paths toward peace, stability, and progress.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party emphasizes the importance of a true federal system and genuine democracy in Iraq, as enshrined in the Constitution. The Party continues to work for the full implementation of constitutional institutions and for all state entities to perform their duties within the framework of the law.

At this critical juncture — when our region and the world are facing complex challenges — the policy and stance of the KDP have earned respect and recognition at the local, regional, and international levels. The wisdom and balanced approach of the Party have strengthened its role and influence across Iraq and the wider region.

Based on these truths, we call upon our loyal voters in Kurdistan and throughout the Federal Republic of Iraq to renew their confidence in the Kurdistan Democratic Party — the tested and trusted force of progress and stability.
