KDP Foreign Relations Office Delegation Participates in ICAPP Conference in Baku

A delegation from the Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), headed by Mr. Abdulsalam Ibrahim, Head of the Eurasian Desk, and accompanied by Dr. Dyary Sherwany, member of the Eurasian Desk, participated in the 44th Meeting of the ICAPP Standing Committee and the 4th Meeting of the Asian Cultural Council of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), held in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, from October 16 to 19, 2025.

The conference, graciously hosted by the New Azerbaijan Party, convened under the theme “From National Diversity to Global Solidarity: The Role of Culture in the New World Order.” The event brought together representatives of political parties from across Asia to discuss the promotion of cultural dialogue, mutual understanding, and regional cooperation.

During the proceedings, the KDP delegation delivered a speech on behalf of the Party, emphasizing the historic culture of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among the diverse communities of the Kurdistan Region. The speech highlighted the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Masoud Barzani, particularly his pivotal role in the initiation and ratification of the 2015 Minorities Law, which enshrines the rights and equality of all ethnic and religious communities in the Kurdistan Region.

The delegation also reaffirmed the stance of His Excellency President Nechirvan Barzani, who has consistently underscored that “we strive to ensure that Kurdistan remains a safe haven and sanctuary for all, regardless of ethnic, religious, or cultural differences.”

The participation of the KDP delegation in the ICAPP meetings reflects the Party’s continued commitment to advancing dialogue among Asian political parties, fostering cultural cooperation, and promoting the values of coexistence, tolerance, and global solidarity. The participation of the KDP delegation underscored the Party’s ongoing commitment to dialogue, cultural understanding, and strengthening cooperation within the framework of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP).
