Hawrami: Kurdish state would bring stability and peace in the region

The formation of an independent Kurdish state would bring enhanced stability and peace to the region as the consistent role of Kurds in the war against terrorism has proved that their role has brought fraternal coexistence.

Hemin Hawrami, head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office, said during a meeting with a diplomat from Canadian embassy, Andrew Webb, that President Massoud Barzani's visit to Turkey is to establish peace and build relationships that serve the interests of the region.

Mr Hawrami pointed out strategy plans and visions of the KDP in events and said that it always been an element of stability and reconciliation and the process of internal differences, He stressed the insistence on resolving all differences by democratic means and dialogue by the party.

The two sides also touched on relations between Erbil and Baghdad, the war on terror, Peshmerga victories and the situation in the region.

For his part, Mr Webb expressed his satisfaction of the visit and praised the peaceful coexistence Kurdistan while praising the democratic experience in the region.
