Diplomatic efforts by the Kurdistan Democratic Party are being made to open "direct dialogue" between political parties to resolve differences, Hemin Hawrami says in a meeting with the British Consul General to Erbil, Angus McKee.
The Head of KDP's Foreign Relations Office, Mr Hawrami, touched on the current situation in the region, the crisis in Syria, tensions between the KRG and Baghdad, and the military developments of Peshmerga forces where he emphasised on the victories and discussed the role of the KDP, reflecting on their position that they would prefer to resolve disputes with other political parties diplomatically through dialogue.
For his part, Mr McKee said the United Kingdom is ready to provide support to Kurdistan and praised the valiant Peshmerga forces and the leadership, especially in the current difficult circumstances for protecting the region and its people.
