Hemin Hawrami accentuated the valuable role of China in the Kurdistan region in a meeting with the Chinese Consul General to Erbil, Tan Bangling, and his accompanying delegation, which focused on ways of developing bilateral relations between the two sides.
Mr Hawrami, Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office, emphasised on current relations between the Kurdistan and China, lauding their role in strengthening diplomatic ties before moving on to talk about the latest political and military developments.
The Chinese consul expressed his congratulations to President Massoud Barzani and the Kurdish Peshmerga forces, adding that their consulate has been established in Erbil to coordinate a bridge between China and the Kurdistan region and will encourage Chinese companies and investors to participate in the reconstruction and economic development of the Region.
He also conveyed his best wishes to the Kurds on the occasion of a new year, and praised the peaceful coexistence and democracy.
In the meeting, both sides discussed the mutual importance of strengthening bilateral ties in all sectors, especially trade and industry, as well as social and political relations. Both agreed on the need to support the KRG in fighting the terrorist militants.
