Masrour Barzani received a military delegation from Czech Republic led by Deputy Minister of Defence, Jacob Levski, for talks on the current security situation in the Kurdistan region, other areas of mutual interest and bilateral ties.
The Chancellor of Kurdistan’s Regional Security Council, Mr Barzani, expressed appreciation towards the Czech government for their assistance in the war against Islamic State militants and for supporting the people of Kurdistan. He said that Peshmerga forces are optimistic in destroying IS but requires enhanced weaponry and stressed on the need for international allied forces to intensify their offensives against the terrorist organisation.
Mr Levski praised the courage of Peshmerga for fighting IS on the ground and declared that his country will continue to supply armaments to the region and push further with providing humanitarian aid.
