Hawrami: The KDP has sacrificed to sustain a democratic experience

Taking part in a video-conference discussing the latest political and military developments in the Kurdistan region, Hemin Hawrami spoke to a group of Swedish parliamentarians to emphasise on the functions of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

The Swedish participants, Jens Orback, Secretary General of the Olof Palme International Center, Fredrik Malm, Liberal Party parliamentarian, and Mårten Löfberg from Swedish Social Democratic Party,   gave their insights to the situation showing praise for the Kurdish people and Peshmerga forces for fighting resistance and scoring a number of victories against terrorism, lauding the Kurdistan region of defending their security and stability and expressed admiration for how President Massoud Barzani has lead his forces to achieving success.

Mr Hawrami, the Head of KDP's Foreign Relations Office, talked about the strategic options of his party and how they resort to resolving disputes by means of peaceful dialogue, stressing the Kurds will put aside their differences and settle for cooperation without evading responsibility. He said that the KDP has made a number of huge sacrifices to bring peace and stability to the region, respecting the will of the people on all levels.

For their parts, Mr Orback and Mr Malm conveyed their appreciation toward the KRG for receiving a huge number of internally displaced people and refugees, stressing on the courage and will of the Kurds for keeping the region safe and secure.
