Fadhil Mirani praised the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in assisting the Kurds in all phases, especially helping Kurdistan in its war against the so-called Islamic State (IS).
This came during a meeting with the Iranian Consul General to Erbil, Morteza Ebadi, who is visiting for talks focusing on the latest political developments in Kurdistan, the wider region and Iraq.
The Chief Secretary of the KDP’s Politico Bureau, Mr Mirani, pointed to the economic crisis facing Kurdistan and budget cuts by the central government in Iraq. He also spoke about the importance of Kurdistan’s Peshmerga victories against the IS terrorists.
On the internal situation in Kurdistan, Mr Mirani said the position of the KDP is to resort to mutual understanding in accordance with rules of practice and current stage it necessary to deal with the events and developments responsibility, to resolve differences through peaceful dialogue, in order to bring more stability to secure the well-being of the people of Kurdistan.
For his part, Mr Ebadi thanked the Political Bureau of KDP for scheduling this meeting, and exchanging views on the bilateral relations between the two parties.
