The Secretary of Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Political Bureau, Fadhil Mirani, received the British Ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker, for talks that focused on the latest political and security situation including ways to coordinate efforts to address the challenges facing the region.
Mr Mirani thanked Britain for providing humanitarian aid to the vast number of internally displaced people (IDPs) and supplying military assistance to Kurdistan's Peshmerga forces.
On the issues of differences of opinion between the political parties, Mr Mirani said that it is a part of the foundations of democracy and peaceful coexistence, adding that this natural variation in Kurdistan is in the supreme interest of the people.
For his part, Mr Baker voiced his support for Kurdistan, stating the world is looking with respect and admiration for the Peshmerga's victories against while expressing Britain's continued support for the region.
