The Consul General of the State of Palestine visited the Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

Hoshyar Siwaily, Head of the Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, received H.E. Dr. Maher Karaki, the Consul General of the State of Palestine in the Kurdistan Region. At the beginning, Ambassador Karaki conveyed his congratulations on behalf of his country to the President Barzani and the leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party for their success in the recent elections of the Council of Representatives of Federal Iraq.

During the meeting, they discussed the progress and options regarding the formation of the next cabinet of the federal government. The ambassador expressed his hope that in the near future, the federal government and the Kurdistan Region Government would be formed so that both sides can carry out their responsibilities.

The Head of the Foreign Relations Office expressed his concerns about the overall situation of the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, and voiced his hope for an end to the current crisis. He referred to the recent decision of the UN Security Council and the calls by the United States and other world countries to end the war and suffering in Gaza.

They also discussed the situation in the region, Iraq, and the conditions of the Palestinians residing and studying in the Kurdistan Region. Mr. Siwaily reaffirmed the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s support for them so that they may complete their studies in peace and dignity and later serve their people and homeland.
