Chinese Assistance Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party visits Kurdistan.

Today, Umed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil and Hoshyar Siwaily Head of KDP Foreign Relations office, welcomed at Erbil International Airport His Excellency Jin Xin, Assistant Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China; His Excellency Cui Wei, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq; and their accompanying delegation. The high-level CPC delegation is visiting Erbil to further strengthen relations between China and the Kurdistan Region.

Relations between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Communist Party of China remain excellent. Each year, several delegations travel to China for training, exchanges, and meetings with senior Chinese officials.

It has been decided that Beijing University will open a Kurdish Language Department next year. Since 2019, Salahaddin University has had a Chinese Language Department.

More than 28 Chinese companies currently operate in the Kurdistan Region, and plans are underway to construct a dedicated building for the consulate.
