Chargé d’Affaires of the Bulgarian Embassy in Baghdad visited Foreign Relations Office of Kurdistan Democratic Party.

It was our pleasure to welcome Mr Valentin Nikolov, Chargé d’Affaires of the Bulgarian Embassy in Baghdad, and Mr. Vasily Vasilev, Head of the Embassy’s Economic and Commercial Affairs Section in the Kurdistan Region.

Our discussions focused on deepening ties between the Kurdistan Region and Bulgaria, particularly in the economic, academic, and cultural spheres. We acknowledged Bulgaria’s historic support for Kurdistan, and both sides affirmed their desire to further strengthen these relations.

We also reviewed the situation in Iraq, the parliamentary elections, Erbil–Baghdad relations, and the formation of the governments of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and exchanged views on other related topics.
