President Barzani receives the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative in Iraq

On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Pirmam, President Masoud Barzani received Mr. Mohammed Al-Hassan, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and Head of the UNAMI Mission in Iraq.

The meeting, held as a farewell visit marking the end of Mr. Al-Hassan’s mandate, featured an exchange of appreciation. Mr. Al-Hassan thanked President Barzani for his continuous support, which contributed to the success of his mission in Iraq.

President Barzani, in turn, thanked Mr. Al-Hassan for his efforts to address Iraq’s challenges, support the political process, and strengthen coordination and cooperation among political parties and components of the country to advance security, stability, and prosperity for all citizens. He wished Mr. Al-Hassan success in his future endeavors.
